Infinergy preps Limekiln extension plan

Infinergy is in the process of submitting a planning application for its five-turbine Limekiln wind farm extension, reducing its plans from the seven machines mooted in scoping.

The project will act as a true extension to the east of Infinergy’s consented 21-turbine, 90MW Limekiln project which will have sufficient grid capacity to cover the additional turbines.

The scheme is part of the developer’s joint venture with Boralex. The developer is seeking permission for machines up to 149.9 metres in height at the site south west of Thurso in the Scottish Highlands.

Chief executive Esbjorn Wilmar told reNEWS that assuming 4.2MW turbines, it would have a total capacity of 21MW.

He added that there were still a number of documents to be submitted and other admin hurdles to completed before the application was fully submitted.
